After Apple CEO, Tim Cook denied that his company is planning to develop the car. This time, it was BlackBerry boss John Chen expresses its desire to plunge into the driverless car market.

Canadian company which is famous for its smartphone products will be present to provide technology and solutions for the riders in the event the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2016.

BlackBerry is actually no longer a new player in the automotive world, previously the company has developed for millions of car infotainment systems.

Quoted from autoevolution, Saturday (26/12/2015) recently, a company based in Waterloo has established cooperation with Luxoft to work in semi-autonomous driving technology.

Luxoft technology, called CVNAR can be adapted to custom specifications of a car, the technology is ready to be offered as a hardware-independent solution for head-up display, LCD or AR glasses.
Currently, many automobile manufacturers that use semi-autonomous system in their vehicles. It can help users to automatically change lanes or brake, but manufacturers will clearly develop a fully autonomous car as the car of the future.

"We have a desire to collaborate with companies like Google, Apple or Tesla as the software platform BlackBerry cooperate with the car of Google or Apple. Currently, our software has been in about 60 million cars on the road, then obviously we will step up to The next stage, "said Chen.

These changes can clearly be seen in view of BlackBerry recently reported losses in the third quarter. The losses suffered was not caused software division, but the company is only able to sell about 100,000 smartphones and this figure is far lower than the previous quarter.
