Ignore the "Recall" BMW Fined $ 40 Million

Institute for Highway Safety USA NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) snarled at BMW who never retract Mini units above the minimum standard issue side crash. NHTSA eventually fined BMW for 40 million dollars.

BMW has been twice penalized like this. Earlier in 2012 sentencing because BMW has not abandoned cars and motorcycles that have been declared problematic.

"For the second time in three years, BMW has been punished for failing to meet obligations. The company should use this opportunity to reshape the culture of the procedure and to put security in place should, at the top of the priority list, "said NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind, in a statement reported by Autoblog, Wednesday (23/12/2015).

The model involved in the story this year is the Mini Cooper hatchback 2014 - 2015 which failed in side crash testing security capability in October 2014. Tests conducted again in July, but the Mini still did not qualify for the eventual recall of more than 30,000 units proposed.
