Patent Pictures BMW X1 Leaked
Pictures patent the second generation BMW X1, leaked in the Chinese patent office. The leak revealed that the long wheelbase version will be realized in the second generation of the BMW X1.
Quoted from Leftlanenews, Sunday (12/27/2015), this new car will be built on a modular platform UKL company. X1 will have a long wheelbase, almost four inches longer than the short wheelbase variants introduced in Frankfurt last September.
Extra metal sheets will free additional leg room for passengers in the rear. It is a form of alternative, as it allows BMW to offer the smallest crossover with three rows of seats.
Mechanically, the X1 will be the same long wheelbase with his brother, a short wheelbase. That means the entry-level model will be powered 134dk turbocharged three-cylinder engine of 1.5 liters. As for the more expensive variants will benefit from a 2.0-liter turbo-powered four-tuned to 228dk.
Eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive will come with a standard version. xDrive all-wheel drive system BMW will be offered at an additional cost on selected models.
Long wheelbase BMW X1 is expected to make its debut early next year. Blog BMW enthusiast site reported, the crossover is being developed exclusively for the Chinese market.
If the news is true, then the presence of the second generation of the BMW X1 will join the lineup of BMW in Europe and in the United States. Not surprisingly, the car maker based in Munich has not commented on the report.
