NHTSA: Airbags Takata Take Away 8 Lives of American Citizens In 2015

Takata airbag device that is not functioning properly in the car back to take its toll. National Highway Safety Agency (NHTSA) the United States calls artificial airbag Takata Corporation that has claimed eight lives of its citizens.

As reported by Reuters on Friday (12/25/2015), NHTSA calls reports of casualties from Takata airbag problem it received since last April and became the ninth reports globally.

A spokesman for the agency, Gordon Trowbridge, said victims of the world's ninth or eighth of Americans is a teenager 13 years.

This teenager is known to drive a Honda Accord made in 2001 in Pittsburgh, the USA in July. He had an accident and the airbags which should serve to minimize fatality may not work properly.

The boy was rushed to a hospital but died a few days later. The unlicensed teen reportedly took the car keys and drove his parents' Honda Accord.

The total death toll of nine people was composed of eight Americans and one in Malaysia. In addition to the fatalities, Takata airbag also has caused 100 people were injured.

Due to safety violations that have been conducted, in November Takata fined by NHTSA worth US $ 70 million. Not only that, Takata also face a penalty of US $ 130 million.

A total of 23 million airbags Takata used on 19 million vehicles were also withdrawn from circulation.
