BMW Introduces Laser Headlights For Motorcycles

BMW shows laser light technology for motorcycles which claimed to be able to glow twice as much when operated in a model of a high beam (dimmer), compared with conventional lamps available today.

This new technology brought the company through the automotive technology division, ready to be paired with a model K1600GTL who made his debut at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA, 6-9 January 2016.

BMW claims this new laser light produces pure white light, can reach a distance of up to 600 meters when the dimmer is operated. The German manufacturer also voiced they're that laser technology is extremely compact, maintenance-free, and guaranteed more durable.

Previously, the laser light technology has been introduced to the line of cars, the i8 and Series 7, and this is the first application for a motorcycle.

Although introduced, but BMW said test try on a pair K1600GTL was still a prototype. This technology is still too expensive for everyday use in the mass production motorcycle.
